Where to Cop Those Sick Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Navy” Kicks (And Why I’m Already Saving Up)

Oh man, guys. I just spent the last hour drooling over leaked images of the upcoming Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Sapphire Blue” (or “Navy” as some folks are calling it), and I’m already counting my pennies. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been refreshing your sneaker apps obsessively since the Pine Green version dropped and had us all going crazy.

Let’s talk release dates first, because I know that’s what we’re all here for. I was originally marking my calendar for late 2023 or early 2024 (I literally wrote it in my “Sneaker Drops” notebook – yes, I have one of those, don’t judge). But here’s the deal – seems like we’re all gonna have to practice patience because the latest intel points to a February 2025 release. Yep, you read that right. We’ve got a bit of a wait ahead of us.

What’s The Big Deal With These Shoes Anyway?

I remember when the SB and Jordan brands first started collaborating. I was working at a small skate shop in Portland, and the buzz was REAL. The marriage between basketball heritage and skate culture just makes sense in a weird way, right?

These new “Sapphire Blue” joints are gonna feature a clean white and grey upper with royal blue accents that’ll pop like crazy. Picture yourself rolling up to the skatepark in these – you’d be the coolest person there, hands down. I can already feel the jealous stares.

What makes these extra special is all the little details. They’re putting Nike SB logos on the heels, Jumpman logos on the tongues, and – this is my favorite part – a gum outsole that’s actually functional for skating. Last time I tried to skate in regular Jordans (back in 2016), I nearly broke my ankle. Not making that mistake again!

Where Can You Actually Buy Them?

OK, so here’s the part you’ve been waiting for. Where can you actually grab a pair when they finally drop? With a retail price of $225 (start saving now, I already have a special envelope labeled “Blue J’s” in my desk), these aren’t gonna be the easiest shoes to get your hands on.

Your best bet will be select Nike SB retailers. If you’ve got a local skate shop that carries SB products, start being extra nice to the staff NOW. I’m not kidding. Bring them coffee. Learn their names. My buddy Mike scored the last collab by bringing donuts to our local shop every Saturday for a month before the release. Desperate times, desperate measures.

Online, you’ll have a few options:

  • Nike SNKRS app (where I’ve taken approximately 47 Ls in the past year alone)
  • Nike.com (set those alarms!)
  • Select online skate retailers like Tactics and Skate Warehouse

Listen, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – these are going to be TOUGH to get. The Pine Green version sold out faster than I could type my credit card number, and I’ve been practicing my typing speed since middle school.

My Game Plan (Feel Free to Steal It)

Here’s what I’m planning to do. First, I’m setting aside a little money each month. $225 isn’t cheap, and that’s IF I can get them at retail. Second, I’m following all the major sneaker accounts for updates – sometimes release info changes, and I’ve missed drops before because I had outdated info.

The morning of the release, I’ll be up early with my laptop, phone, and my wife’s iPad all fired up (sorry honey, you can have it back after the drop). Multiple devices has worked for me before – scored the Union LA 4s that way.

I’ve also got a buddy who works at a local skate shop who promised to at least try to hold a pair for me. I helped him move last summer, so he kinda owes me. Networking, people. It matters in the sneaker game!

Are They Worth the Hype?

Look, at the end of the day, they’re just shoes. Really cool, limited edition, probably-gonna-sell-out-in-seconds shoes that I ABSOLUTELY NEED IN MY LIFE.

But seriously, the Nike SB x Jordan collabs have been consistently fire, and this colorway looks like it might be the best yet. The blue just hits different, and I can already picture them with my favorite jeans.

Plus, there’s something special about having a pair of kicks that blends basketball history with skate culture. It’s like wearing a little piece of sneaker evolution on your feet.

So yeah, February 2025 seems like forever away, but good things come to those who wait (at least that’s what I keep telling myself). In the meantime, I’ll be over here, refreshing my feed for more leaked pictures and plotting how to be first in line.

Who else is planning to go after these? Drop a comment and let me know your cop strategy – unless it’s better than mine, in which case, keep it to yourself!
