END. x adidas “Tying the Knot” Pack: A Match Made in Sneaker Heaven
So I was scrolling through my Instagram feed yesterday morning, coffee in hand (and admittedly, still in my pajamas at 11 AM), when I spotted something that made me nearly spill my drink all over my keyboard. END. and adidas are dropping a new collab this week, and folks, it’s giving me all the feels.
The “Tying the Knot” pack is exactly what it sounds like – a celebration of the partnership between these two brands with a wedding-inspired twist. And let me tell you, as someone who’s spent way too much money on sneakers over the years (don’t tell my wife), this collection hits different.
When Sneakers Say “I Do”
Remember my cousin’s wedding last summer when I secretly wore comfy sneakers under my suit pants? This collection would’ve been perfect for that! The “Tying the Knot” pack features two classic silhouettes: the Japan OG W and the Superstar Vintage. They’ve reimagined these classics with wedding vibes that are somehow both clever and not at all cheesy.
The Japan OG W is basically the bride of the collection. It’s decked out in white and off-white tones that remind me of those fancy wedding dresses with all their different shades and textures of white (which I learned the hard way are NOT all the same when helping my sister shop for her wedding). The sneaker has this beautiful lace fabric detail that’s so subtle you might miss it at first glance. Trust me, I zoomed in approximately 47 times to appreciate it fully.
On the flip side, the Superstar Vintage is clearly the groom – looking sharp in a black and white colorway that reminds me of a classic tuxedo. I can almost hear these sneakers saying “I clean up nice, don’t I?” And yes, sir, you certainly do.
The Little Details That Made Me Smile
You know what really got me about this collection? The little touches. Both pairs have this sweet detail hidden beneath the tongue – the phrase “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” embossed right there. It’s like a secret message only the wearer knows about.
And speaking of blue – the insoles are this vibrant blue color, representing the “something blue” wedding tradition. I showed my wife, and she immediately said, “That’s actually really cute,” which is about as enthusiastic as she gets about my sneaker obsession.
The co-branding is tastefully done too. Not too in-your-face, but present enough that other sneakerheads will definitely notice and give you that knowing nod of approval when you’re out and about.
Why This Collab Matters (At Least to This Sneaker Nerd)
I’ve seen a lot of collaborations come and go over my years of blogging about sneakers. Some are nothing more than slapping two logos together and calling it a day. But this one feels different – there’s an actual concept here, a story being told.
Last night, I was explaining this collab to my friend Dave over beers. He’s not into sneakers at all and usually zones out when I start rambling about limited drops. But even he perked up at the wedding concept, saying “That’s actually pretty clever.” High praise from a guy whose idea of footwear fashion is whatever’s on sale at the department store!
The “Tying the Knot” pack reminds me why I fell in love with sneaker culture in the first place. It’s not just about the shoes – it’s about storytelling, creativity, and finding ways to make familiar things feel fresh and exciting.
Will I Be Adding These to My Collection?
Well, my credit card is already giving me that judgmental stare from my wallet. I’ve been trying to cut back on impulse buys this year (a New Year’s resolution that lasted approximately 17 days), but there’s something about this pack that feels special.
I’m especially drawn to the Superstar Vintage. There’s just something about that silhouette that never gets old. Plus, I could totally wear them to my buddy Mike’s wedding next month. “Look, they’re themed appropriately!” will be my defense when questioned about wearing sneakers to a formal event. Again.
If you’re thinking about grabbing a pair (or both), they’re dropping this week through END. and select retailers. Based on past END. x adidas collabs, I’d recommend setting an alarm – these won’t stick around long.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go calculate how many dinners at home it’ll take to justify this purchase to myself. Ramen for a week isn’t so bad, right?
